A woman from Greenwich, Connecticut filed a multi-million-dollar medical malpractice lawsuit this week against the Tully Health Center and an emergency room medical contractor. The lawsuit alleges that the hospital failed to diagnose a fatal condition that led to the death of her husband in 2010.
The woman’s husband died at age 46 from a pulmonary embolism. According to the complaint, the man sought emergency medical attention, but the physicians that attended him missed the pulmonary embolisms in both of his lungs, discharging him the same morning he arrived after performing a CT-scan on his abdomen.
Nine days later, Hermann was rushed to Stamford Hospital in critical condition. A CT-scan of his chest revealed blocked arteries in his lungs. He died the next day. Had the emergency physicians at the Tully health Center performed additional testing, the woman asserts, her husband would still be alive.
