Late Saturday night, a worker at the Dallas Group of America’s Texas City facility was fatally injured in an industrial accident. The incident occurred at around 10PM at the company’s facility, and is still under investigation. However, police believe that the 26-year-old man was injured while he was working on industrial equipment that is used to package the company’s products.
After being taken to the Mainland Medical Center campus in Texas City, the worker was soon pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled today to determine the cause of death. The man was a 2003 graduate of Texas City High School and a guard for the Stingaree football team. He was also a member of a social service group called A Few Good Men, dedicated to donating time for charity work and sending a positive message to the area’s youth.
