The Federal Bar Association

The Federal Bar Association (FBA) is a group of more than 16,000 private and government legal professionals involved in federal practice. For more than 80 years, the FBA has provided leadership opportunities and services for lawyers. Regional and national conferences are held several times a year to provide an opportunity for attorneys to make important connections with other federal lawyers. Law students, new practitioners, experienced attorneys, and judges from all over the country benefit from the FBA.
The purpose of the FBA is to serve as the national representative of the Federal legal profession. The FBA strives to promote the sound administration of justice, to enhance the professional growth and development of members of the Federal legal profession, and to promote high standards of professional competence and ethical conduct in the Federal legal profession. The welfare of attorneys and judges employed by the Government of the United States is an important consideration of the association. To provide meaningful service for the welfare and benefit of the members of the Association, the association provides quality education programs to the Federal legal profession and the public and it keeps members informed of developments in their respective fields of interest. The association also encourages member involvement in its activities and provides members opportunities to assume leadership roles. Professional and social interaction among members of the Federal legal profession is also a goal of the FBA.
