A trucker from Florida was recently charged in a truck accident case in Frederick County, Maryland that resulted in the deaths of two people, and left three other passengers with injuries. According to Maryland State Police, the 34-year-old truck driver was traveling down Route 75 when the crash occurred on Monday, November 12th. When the truck rounded a sharp curve, it overturned and crashed into a pick-up truck that was traveling in the opposite direction.
Two people inside of the pick-up truck were killed in the collision. One other passenger in the pick-up, and a passenger in the tractor-trailer were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions are currently unknown. The driver was released from the hospital shortly after treatment on Monday, and arrested in the evening. He currently awaits a court appearance.
The trucker has been charged with:
- Two counts of criminally negligent homicide
- One count of failing to control speed to avoid a truck accident
