Kentucky Bar Association

In the State of Kentucky, many people are injured because of the negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct of an individual or company. These people have the opportunity to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a lawyer in their state. Unfortunately, not all people that call themselves lawyers are reputable or able to properly launch a lawsuit. Membership in the Kentucky Bar Association is the reassurance needed to insure that an individual is qualified to present a court case in front of Kentucky courts.
The Kentucky Bar Association is a comprised of a group of legal professionals in the state of Kentucky. The association is dedicated to encouraging legal ethics, promoting education, and advocating a positive public view of the legal profession. Several services are provided to Kentucky Bar Association members including a legal directory and legal research tools.
As an independent agency of the Supreme Court of Kentucky, membership in the association is required for every practicing lawyer in Kentucky. Its authority to regulate the legal profession in Kentucky is derived directly from the Kentucky Constitution.
The official mission and purpose of the Association is to maintain a proper discipline of the members of the bar in accordance with rules and with the principles of the legal profession as a public calling. The bar also initiates and supervises, with the approval of the Court, appropriate means to insure a continuing high standard of professional competence on the part of the members of the Bar. Substantial and continuing responsibility for promoting the efficiency and improvement of the judicial system is also a responsibility of the bar.
