A 16 year old boy involved with the Boy Scouts of America was killed by lighting at a summer camp when campers were sent to their campsites during a lightning st
orm instead of being herded indoors. The outraged parents filed a lawsuit against the Boy Scouts of America over the issue, claiming that the defendants should not have released the 350 scouts into the dangerous weather, jeopardizing many Scouts and tragically terminating their son. The Boy Scouts negligence was the cause of their son’s death, parents say. The family and scout leaders involved came to a settlement decision on Thursday, June 15, 2006.
