This past Sunday, a 16-year-old boy driving a tractor-trailer collided with two Texas women who were in the process of changing their vehicle’s tire on Interstate 70 near Limon, Colorado. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the boy’s 37-year-old father, who was with the teen at the time of the truck accident, originally claimed to be the driver. The Louisiana youth left the scene of the truck accident before police arrived, and has been charged with:
- Leaving the scene of a fatal accident (two felony counts)
- Carless driving resulting in death (one misdemeanor count)
The man with him has also been charged with a misdemeanor for false reporting. An ongoing investigation is being performed to determine whether or not the teenager was required to have a CDL (commercial driver’s license) in order to drive the truck.
