The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently issued a recall notice for the ‘Nap Nanny’ baby recliner product, which is manufactured by Baby Matters, LLC in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. According to the recall notice, the recliners are defectively designed, and also contain defects in the warnings and instructions, posing a serious risk of injury and/or death to infants.
The defective product recall includes Nap Nanny Generations One and Two, and the Chill™ model recliners. Since 2009, around 5,000 Nap Nanny Generation One models, and 50,000 Generation Two models were sold before being discontinued in 2012. 100,000 of the Chill™ models have been sold since 2011.
The Nap Nanny baby recliners are portal infant recliners meant for resting, sleeping, and playing. The recliners use a bucket-seat foam base, and a fitted fabric cover that includes a three-point harness. If you have one of these products, you are advised to review the return policy of the retailer where you purchased the recliner.
