The parents of a Nevada 15-year-old have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of a pickup truck that rolled over and killed their daughter. In the lawsuit, the family claims that the driver’s parents knew he was an unsafe driver and should not have allowed him to drive their pickup.
During the accident, the driver was traveling 62 mph in a 25 mph zone. He lost control of the 2004 Silverado pickup truck; it rolled over, killing one passenger and injuring another. The lawsuit states that the driver had a restricted license and was not supposed to be driving with any passengers.
Despite the restricted license, the parents of the driver allowed their son to drive with passengers anyway. The family filing the wrongful death lawsuit believes the driver was under the influence of alcohol when the auto accident occurred.
While the lawsuit has not listed how much compensation the family is attempting to recover, it does state that they are seeking both compensatory and punitive damages.
If you have lost a loved one as a result of an auto accident caused by the negligence of another, you may be able to recover compensation for your loss. It is important to consult an experienced wrongful death lawyer at once to find out if you have a valid claim.
