A 37-year-old man from Manchester, New Hampshire was arrested on Friday for allegedly fleeing the scene of a car accident earlier this month on Daniel Webster Highway. The man is believed to have sideswiped a vehicle while driving on the highway. He initially pulled over into the breakdown lane with the other driver, but then fled before exchanging any contact information.
Police obtained a warrant for the negligent man’s arrest based on information they received after the accident. He was brought into the Bedford Police Department on an unrelated matter, and was then arrested for the hit-and-run. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 11th.
When a negligent driver leaves the scene of a car accident, they may be leaving a seriously injured person without any aid, and their attempt escape culpability can leave accident victims without any recourse. Once a hit-and-run suspect has been identified and brought in, the people who have been injured by their negligence and wrongdoing deserve justice and compensation.
