New Jersey State Bar Association

In the State of New Jersey, many people are injured because of the negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct of an individual or company. These people have the opportunity to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a lawyer in their state. Unfortunately, not all people that call themselves lawyers are reputable or able to properly launch a lawsuit. Membership in the New Jersey State Bar Association is the reassurance needed to insure that an individual is qualified to present a court case in front of New Jersey courts.
The New Jersey State Bar Association is an organization that represents legal professionals in the state of New Jersey. The association has the honorable mission to serve, protect, foster and promote the personal and professional interests of its members. It also serves as the voice of New Jersey attorneys to other organizations, governmental entities, and the public. Maintaining the high standards of the law, the legal profession, and the legal system in New Jersey is the ultimate goal of the association. The New Jersey State Bar Association also sponsors many programs intended to foster continued legal education. Every year, several seminars are held to provide educational opportunities to New Jersey attorneys and enhance the quality of legal services.
In 1899, 74 groundbreaking lawyers met for the first time in Atlantic City. Since the humble beginnings of the New Jersey State Bar Association, many significant victories have been won for the bar. Over the years the bar has implemented a code of legal ethics, high education standards, lawyer evaluations, and many programs designed to improve the system of law in New Jersey. Potential members are not admitted into the bar without passing strict review standards including passing an examination, undergoing a character review assessment, meeting a minimum education standard, and subscribing to a strict code of ethics.
