Early this morning, Michigan State Police troopers responded to an auto accident scene where a pick-up truck driver lost control in the middle of a farm field in Tuscola County. The truck had rolled over onto its side when police arrived. After an investigation, the police discovered the driver was intoxicated at the time of the car accident. He was arrested and jailed in Tuscola on charges of drunk driving.
The four passengers who were in the cab of the truck were not injured, but the three passengers who were riding in the bed of the pickup truck were thrown from the vehicle at the time of the accident, suffering serious injuries. The passengers were quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Drunk driving can quickly change the lives of car accident victims. Even if a wrongful death does not occur, the injuries caused by a drunk driving accident can have life-altering consequences. Drunk drivers need to be held accountable for the losses they have caused their victims.
