Located in Birmingham, Alabama, Cumberland School of Law has a legacy, dating back over 155 years, of highlighting the importance of practical skills and the application of legal knowledge. Because of the School of Law’s emphasis on training exceptional lawyers, the curriculum concentrates on research, writing, and persuasion. In addition to the standard curriculum, Cumberland School of Law provides several unique programs to students. The Flex Program offers students the option of taking fewer classes each semester, allowing students up to 5 years to complete the requirements for graduation. Cumberland School of Law offers six joint degree programs: JD/Master of Accountancy, JD/Master of Business Administration, JD/Master of Divinity, JD/Master of Science in Environmental Management, JD/Master of Public Administration, and JD/Master of Public Health. Additionally, students may choose to become involved in one of three specialized centers: Cumberland Center for Biotechnology, Law and Ethics; Center for the Study of Law and the Church; and, The Alabama Center for Law & Civic Education.
