The San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association has a proud history dating back to 1971, during the time of the civil rights movement in the United States. The founders of the Association recognized that, while very few Latinos were licensed attorneys, the best way to increase the number of practicing Latino attorneys was to recruit and educate talented young people. Since that time, the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association has continued to grow and develop into an organization recognized for its leadership and ability to promote respect for the diversity of ideas.
