In the State of Arizona, many people are injured because of the negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct of an individual or company. These people have the opportunity to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a lawyer in their state. Unfortunately, not all people that call themselves lawyers are reputable or able to properly launch a lawsuit. Membership in the State Bar of Arizona is the reassurance needed to insure that an individual is qualified to present a court case in front of Arizona courts.
The State Bar of Arizona serves the public and enhances the legal profession by promoting the competency, ethics, and professionalism of its members and enhancing the administration of justice. The State Bar certifies all attorneys who practice law in Arizona. Lawyers can also be certified as specialists if they meet the requirements of: practicing in their specialty field for five years, passing a written test, and undergoing peer review.
The State Bar of Arizona has a vision for the future that guides the actions of the organization. This vision is comprised of several parts. First, in the vision, all Arizona lawyers will be part of a supportive and collegial community of professionals that will exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct and technical skill, and they will share a passion for excellence in the field of law. Judicial officers of the highest caliber will honor Arizona courts as forums for the fair and prompt handling of legal proceedings. All Arizona residents will have equal access to legal services of the highest quality and to a system of justice that affords them prompt resolution of their legal issues. Finally, the judiciary and the members of the State Bar of Arizona will stand ready at all times to anticipate the emerging legal needs of Arizona citizens and will continuously improve the system of justice to meet those needs. While this honorable vision of the future is not yet reality, the actions of the bar are improving legal proceedings in Arizona. The vision will soon be reality.
