As the only public law school in Alabama, the University of Alabama enjoys a reputation for providing a quality education to those wishing to pursue the legal profession. Students attending the University of Alabama School of Law have several opportunities to expand upon their classroom experiences. The School of Law offers ten trial and appellate advocacy teams, five clinical programs, three international programs, and an externship program. Additionally, three endowed lectures have been established, including a program that brings U.S. Supreme Court justices to lecture at the School of Law. The School of Law sponsors three different publications, including the Alabama Law Review, the Law and Psychology Review, and the Journal of the Legal Profession. Students may choose to participate in one of the several clinics or externship programs. The School of Law urges students to participate in public interest activities, with the hope that students will continue to contribute to their communities after graduation.
