The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Victoria’s Secret Direct in Columbus, Ohio have issued a recall of about 500 silk kimono tops, manufactured by Single of Los Angeles, California. The 57 consumers who purchased the item have been instructed to stop using the product immediately.
The product was found to include a fabric that fails to meet the mandatory standards of fabric flammability, violating the federal Flammable Fabrics Act. The outer shell fabric of the top has proven readily flammable and dangerous to the consumer.
Victoria’s Secret is offering refunds and $50 gift cards for returns on the kimono top, and one can call the Victoria’s Secret Direct toll-free hotline for more information at (877) 260-8419, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Victoria’s Secret kimono top is the perfect example of a dangerously defective product that can slip right into a consumer’s hands without anyone being the wiser.
