This past Sunday, a Florida couple on a motorcycle were pulled over by a police officer at a speed trap on a local highway. While the motorcycle was still in the process of pulling over, a black pickup truck slammed into the back of it, killing the 48-year-old woman on board. Both the driver and his wife were wearing helmets when the motorcycle accident occurred.
According to witnesses, the motorcycle was being waved over to the side of the road by police. As the motorcyclist proceeded to slow down, the pickup truck following him failed to observe the change in speed. Although the truck driver was not texting or intoxicated, authorities say he is solely responsible for the wreck.
Many of the victim’s friends question the methods of the police officers who were waving the motorcycle over. Instead of being inside their own vehicle and using their lights to alert other motorists to what was happening, they created the opportunity for this tragic accident.
